We’re kicking off today’s session mid-dungeon, mid-tension, having just rolled initiative.
Literally picking up with the players about to face down Flennis. A random npc in the module whose name may forever live in infamy. A necromancer who has two Fireballs and no reason not to use them. We’ll see how many she gets off. If the dice are merciful, maybe one. If not? Well, let’s just say there’s a reason this dungeon has a reputation.
The group’s done a great job clearing rooms so far, but the real meat of the Dungeon of the Dead Three is still ahead. Creepy altars, corrupted shrines, twisted prisoners. The Bard is out this week, so they’re down one player, and this next fight might be the first time they really feel the heat. Literally and metaphorically.
I don’t expect them to finish the dungeon today, but this group always surprises me with how fast they move. So maybe they will. I haven’t added my personal touch to the maps after the Dungeon of the Dead three, but I am familiar with them. So if we somehow get to the Last Light I’m ready for it. Most likely though, we will not complete the Dungeon tonight.
