We’re back in Baldur’s Gate tonight, picking up exactly where we left off: Granny Rose just tried to Charm Person Amrik Vanthampur, and it didn’t take. The spell fizzled, the roll was high, and now we get to deal with the fallout. My plan is to have Amrik amused more than furious, He’s used to worse, but someone’s likely to rough up Granny just a little to make a point. That said, Amrik’s a businessman, and I think he’ll still want to hear what the players have to offer.
If that conversation goes long, it’ll fill most of the session. But it might go fast or sideways. After it we’ll have the confrontation with the dragon cultists just outside the Low Lantern. That’ll give me a clean chance to introduce a major NPC: the Hellrider who’ll likely stay with the party long-term. She’ll eventually be written up as a sidekick. I love sidekicks for this kind of campaign.
I haven’t done a ton of prep, but I don’t need to. Everything left in Baldur’s Gate is already loaded. We’ve hit a pretty good stride, and it’s been fun watching the party make their own path through all the mess. Let’s see what they do next.
